The main job responsibility is to manage a technical engineering team in the design, manufacture,
and integration and test of technologically advanced Electro-Optical (EO) sensor systems.
Specific Responsibilities
- Lead a technical engineering team.
- Lead the various engineering disciplines in the development of detailed technical plans
- Work with mechanical, electrical, software and optical engineering.
- Lead the performance modeling/error analysis of the complete EO/IR system
- Manage technical risk on the program and provide guidance and direction
- Represent engineering.
- Expert in at least one major technical aspect of EO systems; electrical, optical, systems engineering.
In-depth understanding of the operation and performance of EO sensing systems.
Requirements
- Strong personal discipline, verbal & written communication, documentation skills
- Minimum Master's degree in engineering; electrical, optical, and systems are preferred
- Minimum 8 years experience in the design, manufacture and test of advanced electrooptical systems
- Minimum 3 years supervision of a multi-disciplined engineering team working electrooptical systems
- US citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance required
As part of a new development program, you will be responsible for aircraft structural concepts, layouts, interfaces, details and installation drawings of aircraft structural components.
You have a Bachelor's degree or a Technical College degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the aerospace industry. Knowledge of CATIA is required and Catia V5 is a definite asset.Carbon Fiber composite experience would be an asset.This position requires energetic people with good communication skills, who are willing to accept responsibilities in a team-working environment.

Advanced Optical Material Scientist will be responsible for not only in-house synthesis and material preparation but also leveraging external collaborations to identify and refine growth concepts via establishing the market need, technical feasibility, and the business case leading to growth platform or an NPI program that can be executed by the business. This position will report into the Global Platform Leader of Enabling Technologies.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
1. Material synthesis and preparation, understanding and mapping structure-property relationships, material testing, and product prototyping. If necessary, develop appropriate testing protocols for material property characterization.
2. Optical characterization of materials (refractive index, dispersion, absorption, haze, etc.)
3. Build an extended technical task group by collaborating with other synthetic chemists, material scientists, and process chemists within the company
4. Interface with marketing teams and BU technology teams for project validation, as well as project transfer and commercialization
5. Identify new ideas and concepts for incubation through university outreach, conferences, ideation sessions, and new business space mapping
6. Leverage external resources such as subject matter experts, consulting firms, outside labs, market reports, and university faculty to rapidly screen and shape concepts
7. Perform IP landscape analysis identifying potential patent opportunities as well as existing IP constraints
8. Communicate findings through internal reports, meetings, presentations, etc.
Required Skills Qualifications:
1. PhD degree in chemistry/chemical engineering/material science, preferably in the area of optical and/or composite materials. Working knowledge with surface treatment and rheological modification is a plus.
2. Experience in surfactant/dispersant design & synthesis is preferred.
3. Optical characterization experience is preferred.
4. 1-5 years of postdoctoral or industrial experience are preferred but not a prerequisite
5. Strong oral and written communication skills are required.

Senior Advanced Electric Drive Systems Engineer (Multiple openings)
Our client is a major manufacturer of heavy equipment used in construction, mining, and other heavy industries.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Knowledge of electrical machinery such as motors, generators, power converters.
- Knowledge of electromagnetic designs of electrical machinery.
- Familiarity with power electronics, both hardware design and operation
- Understanding of Permanent Magnet, Switched Reluctance, and AC Induction generators and traction motors.
- Motor modeling experience
- Vector control understanding
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink or other similar tools for system modeling, control system design and analysis
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with Electric Drive traction and control systems.
- Electric Drive traction experience with automotive, rail or heavy machinery
- Knowledge and Experience with APQP, 6 sigma or related quality processes.
- Experience with design specifications documentation.
- Experience with New Technology and New Product Introduction life cycle and related processes.
- Experience in working with suppliers and customers.
- Experience with High Speed Data Acquisition tools
- 2-7 yrs experience
Job Description / Responsibilities
These positions are part of the Advanced Drivetrain team. This team is engaged in research and development for advanced drivetrains.
Responsibilities include electrical designs and electrical system integration for AC drive systems as well as motor and generator development and validation. Additional responsibilities include determining electric machine design specifications, testing components, working with suppliers to ensure compliance with design specifications, managing costs, and ensuring timely delivery to meet program schedule dates.
